Before becoming metal, many jewelry pieces start as just an idea.

A shape.
A volume.
A texture.

Wax modeling is one of the most widely used processes in artisan jewelry to create pieces from scratch, allowing for much freer and more sculptural forms.

That's why this experience at Anillarte was born:
a workshop designed to design and model your own ring in wax before it is later transformed into silver by casting.

WHAT IS JEWELRY WAX?

Modeling wax allows you to work the piece very intuitively:

• cut
• file
• sculpt
• hollow out
• add texture
• modify proportions

Unlike working directly with metal, here the process is closer to sculpture.

The jewel is built little by little from volume.

CREATE A UNIQUE PIECE

During the workshop, you will work on your own wax piece:

• adjusting the size
• creating the shape
• defining the volume
• and giving character to the surface

Each ring will be completely different.

Small irregularities, marks, and variations are part of the artisan process and give each design its own personality.

A FREER AND MORE ORGANIC PROCESS

One of the most special things about wax modeling is the freedom.

We don't work seeking industrial perfection, but rather exploring shapes, textures, and proportions in a more natural way.

The process allows for the creation of pieces that are:

• more organic
• more sculptural
• and with an aesthetic very different from traditional metalwork.

FROM WAX TO SILVER

Once the piece is finished, the ring will later be cast in silver using sand casting.

After the process:

• it is cleaned
• it is refined
• it is polished
• and the final finish is prepared

The finished piece is then delivered, already transformed into a piece of jewelry.

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

The experience is designed for people with no prior jewelry knowledge.

It is not a technical course, but rather an artisanal and creative experience focused on enjoying the process of designing a piece from scratch.

A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE

Each person works with wax differently.

Some pieces end up being:

• more geometric
• more organic
• more minimalist
• or more imperfect

And precisely therein lies part of the beauty of the process.
